Coming Events:

Sunday,  February 12, 10:30 a.m. - The Life and Music of Arik Einstein, the Israeli Singer-Songwriter

Prof. Arie Dubnov of Stanford's History Department combines serious socio-historical analysis with fun in his lecture on the work and career of Israeli composer and singer, Arik Einstein.  Prof Dubnov will show how Einstein's music reflects a period of restless nostalgia among Israeli youth of the '70's, the generation, known as "dor habanim,” the "generation of the sons." This generation came of age after the establishment of the state of Israel and struggled with identity issues in the wake of their parents' achievements and how Israeli society came to define itself -- and them.

Join us for Professor Dubnov's  lecture, Arik Einstein's music, and of course, discussion.  Preceded by the Sunday Morning Minyan @ 9:30am, with breakfast; lecture at 10:30.  Program brought to you by the V’Zot Yisrael Committee.
